Praise be to Allah, for His grace and guidance at this time, the website of the Geography Doctoral Study Program, Faculty of Geography, Universitas Gadjah Mada is available. This website is a medium of information related to various matters that are part of the implementation of the study program. This website contains various important information related to study program profiles, vision and mission, competencies, curriculum, study pathways, managers and teachers, academic guides, study stages, and other relevant information. We hope that this website can be a medium for delivering information to the broader community so that it can be used to find an overview regarding the implementation of the Doctoral Study Program in Geography at the Faculty of Geography, Universitas Gadjah Mada.
Currently, experts in the field of geography are needed in resource management, regional development, and solving problems related to spatial aspects. The use of a geographic approach that includes spatial, ecological, and complex regional approaches is needed to solve various development, environmental, regional, and disaster problems. However, until now, there are very few experts in the field of geography in Indonesia. Therefore, efforts are needed to produce more geographers through the education of the Doctoral Study Program in Geography.
The Doctoral Study Program in Geography is one of the Doctoral Study Programs at Universitas Gadjah Mada which has been established for a long time since 1993. This study program has produced many doctoral graduates of geography from various regions in Indonesia and different countries. The doctoral graduates of geography have played a significant role and contributed to multiple sectors and development fields. From our record, quite a lot of them have occupied strategic positions both in government or private institutions.
On this occasion, we would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the Management of the Study Program and its team, who have made efforts to provide this website. Hopefully, this website can be helpful for the wider community and facilitate the implementation of the Doctoral Program at the Faculty of Geography, Universitas Gadjah Mada.
