Study Program Vision
Referring to the vision of Universitas Gadjah Mada and the Faculty of Geography UGM, by the end of 2050, the Doctoral Study Program in Geographical Sciences aims to become “the leading Geography Study Program in Indonesia and an international centre of excellence in Geography for engaging sustainable development.” This vision was developed from 2019 to 2044 (25 years).
Study Program Mission
The Doctoral Study Program in Geographical Sciences has the following missions:
- To improve the quality of postgraduate education according to international standards
- To increase the high-quality regional research activities
- To increase community service activities that provide solutions to environmental problems
- To expand national and international cooperation networks
- To improve institutional governance.
Goals of the Study Program
To implement the vision and mission of the Study Program, the goals of the Study Program are compiled as follows:
- To administer high-quality higher education to produce graduates with the competence of geography, who are skillful, lifelong learners, and who can work together to solve the nation’s and humankind’s problems.
- To carry out high-quality regional and environmental research involving stakeholders and using research results to improve the quality of learning.
- To organize community services that provide solutions to environmental problems based on scientific studies and research results.
- To develop collaborative networks with other institutions synergistically to gain national and international recognition and reputation.
- To implement good governance that is visionary, transparent, accountable, participatory, law-abiding and responsive, to create an effective and efficient management system.
